Cantilever Racking from Stakapal

At Stakapal, every component is meticulously manufactured and supplied from our UK-based state-of-the-art facility in Cannock, Staffordshire. As a concept-to-completion business, we also offer installation and annual inspections. Our diverse product line includes:

The most commonly used configuration we manufacture to store long and heavy items. This style of racking is specifically designed for conventional, side-loading and multi-directional reach forklift trucks. Read more about our Conventional Cantilever Racking.

A free path configuration consists of wider aisles compared to the conventional configuration. This helps manual handling equipment access the racking on either side of the aisle, which can reduce accidental damage. Read more about our Free Path Cantilever Racking.

Guided Aisle, a perfect solution for smaller spaces because it makes the most of the area without compromising on storage. Runs are positioned closer, effectively making this a narrow aisle racking system. Read more about our Guided Aisle Cantilever Racking.

Health and safety are at the forefront of everything we do and significantly impact the products we manufacture, including our safety products. We offer a wide range of optional safety products such as: barriers, timber decks, post protection and racking canopies.

Tapered columns enable a shelving structure to be used at height to prevent leaning into the aisles, ensuring maximum clearance from products to forklift trucks. Alongside our fully welded base, which further enhances the strength of the rack column and reduces column deflection. The smooth base end plate can be customised to convert your Cantilever Racking configuration into a Guided Aisle system, with the option to add base-mounted steel guide rails or hardwood rubbing strips to protect forklift trucks.

Our cantilever arms are fully adjustable and therefore move with your stockholding needs. The tapered design also assists in loading and unloading with increased clearance to prevent damage to stock and the racking itself. Every arm is secured to the column using beam locking pins, and it is essential to use the correct ones to maintain the structural integrity of the arms.

Features of Cantilever Rack Systems

Cantilever racking solutions from Stakapal is unique – our boxed column design is tested and manufactured to withstand the highest resistance to twisting. We punch our columns on both sides at a 76mm pitch, which allows for varied arm height. This also means that every column is capable of being single-sided or double-sided, offering excellent adjustability.

Cantilever Racking FAQ's

Cantilever racking is a storage system that is made up of horizontal arms and upright columns that are bolted to the floor for maximum stability. The weight that a cantilever rack can store depends on the materials used and the duty of the components. At Stakapal, we design racking specifically for your products, business and space, always aiming to provide maximum flexibility for changing stock. Load labels are essential for health and safety and insurance purposes, so we include load labels as standard with every new racking project we do. For more information, visit our blog post.

The cost can vary for cantilever racking. Used racking can be significantly cheaper than new, but comes with risks that could be detrimental to your business, site health and safety and end up costing you more money. The initial investment in new racking will be higher, but the benefits make it a well-spent investment. We hire every member of our team directly (so, no outsourcing). This way, we ensure that we are fully responsible and accountable for the project from start to finish, and our values are upheld every step of the way. Read more about the cost of cantilever racking here.

Racking compliance can be determined by having annual inspections carried out by a SARI (SEMA Approved Racking Inspector) who is specifically trained to identify risks and damage to a racking system in accordance with SEMA guidelines. Stakapal now has five in-house SARIs who are all trained to inspect both Cantilever and Pallet Racking. Read more about inspections here.

Yes! Load labels are an essential part of your racking. They display the correct and safe load capacity that your racking can carry and are one of the first things that an Environmental Health Officer or Insurance Official will look for. If you aren’t sure about your load information, get in touch with our in-house engineers to check, or find more information in our load label guide here.

The installation of any racking, not just Cantilever, should only be carried out by trained professionals. That is why our installation teams are SEIRS registered and employed directly by Stakapal, meaning no sub-contractors. By doing this, we can guarantee the highest quality of service and a job well done. For more information about what to expect during a racking installation.
