Constructed similarly to the conventional variation, Narrow Aisle Warehouse Racking has runs positioned a lot closer together, eliminating any wasted space. This variation requires a specialised narrow aisle forklift and truly makes the most of every square foot.

Pallet Racking FAQs

APR stands for Adjustable Pallet Racking, which is designed to store palletised materials in horizontal rows with multiple levels, or bays.

Most commonly used in warehouses, builders' yards and distribution sites.

We manufacture a range of racking variations here at our purpose-built facility in the Midlands, including: conventional pallet racking , narrow aisle pallet racking and drive-in pallet racking.

When choosing the right system, you should consider the items you want to store, your warehouse layout, ideal load capacity, and any manual handling equipment or machinery.

If you aren't sure which is the right racking system for your business our in-house technical engineers are happy to help. Book you free site visit here, or give us a call on 01543 287 123.

To ensure safety when it comes to warehouse storage, installation should be carried out by SEIRS-registered installers who are specially trained for racking installation.

A reputable manufacturer or supplier will provide the correct load notices with any new racking and recommend that regular inspections are carried out, which is usually also a requirement for insurance purposes.

At Stakapal, safety is at the forefront of everything we do. With in-house testing facilities, choosing the strongest, most reliable steel and our close working relationship with our industry body, SEMA.

  • Appoint a Person Responsible for Racking Safety (PRRS), a person whose responsibility it is to regularly inspect the racking and shelving for damage and report that damage. An annual inspection should be carried out by a qualified SARI.
  • Ensure that any load notices are adhered to; overloaded racking could have detrimental consequences not only to the longevity of the racking but also to health and safety on site.
  • A clean and organised warehouse also helps with the maintenance of the racking system by allowing easy access to aisles when using machinery such as forklifts, reducing the risk of accidental damage.

The cost of a racking system, or shelving system as it is sometimes called, can vary and is usually determined by size, quality of materials used and the purpose of the racking.

We offer a range of racking solutions, including cantilever racking, the only UK supplier to manufacture both from our purpose-built facility based in the Midlands. Contact us for your free site visit and competitive priced quote.
