British Cheese Champions Joseph Heler Ltd have manufactured cheese for over 50 years, in turn Stakapal have over the last 15 years designed, specified and installed bespoke Pallet Racking storage solutions for all of Heler’s cheese maturing cold stores. Having developed a unique understanding of the highly logistical demands of the food production sector, Stakapal were pleased to be awarded the latest contract for their 4th cheese maturing cold store at the Nantwich site.
This project required Drive-In Pallet Racking with frame heights in excess of 6m and depths of over 8m deep. Each lane was designed to carry 8,000kgs per level giving the capacity for the storage of over 600 pallets.
A further 20 bays with Pallet Racking frame heights again in excess of 6m and with depths of 3m deep carrying 3,000kgs per level provided the capacity to store a further 200 pallets.

When BSS made the strategic decision to centralise its distribution centre at a new 47,500 sq mtr site at Crosspoint Coventry a very high and bespoke Cantilever Racking system became a crucial and key element to the facility. With up to 5,200 tonnes of Pipe stock being warehoused within racks at any given time it was a project that called for an unrivalled level of technical expertise that Stakapal were able to deliver. Column Cantilever Racking heights were in excess of 10 mtrs and designed to carry 9,000 kgs per column side supported by 12 arm levels in height.

The recent investment programme into Cantilever Racking at their Timber Storage shed in Maiden Bradley near Warminster meant that the key elements required were both space optimisation and 100% stock selectivity. Stakapal designed, manufactured and installed Cantilever Racking with double sided column heights of 4.5m constructed of base plus 3 arm levels per column side.

As one of the largest timber importers and distributors in Europe, Timbmet’s new state of the art Distribution Centre at Stanfield in the Vale, Oxfordshire encompasses three main dedicated Cantilever Racks storage areas. Stakapal designed and specified Cantilever Racking with common column heights of 5.9m for both internal and external racks designed to carry loads of 6000kgs per column side. London based Builders Merchants Long & Somerville who are specialists in heavyside and landscaping materials relocated to their new site in Enfield after spending 75 years at their previous site. Stakapal designed, manufactured and installed a comprehensive range of bespoke storage equipment which included Cantilever Racking, Pallet Racking and Vertical Storage/A-Frame. Full consideration was given to stock-rotation and replenishment along with a requirement for clear, concise merchandising of product. Long & Somerville launched their brand new eco friendly Sustainability Centre along with a shop which made full use of the variety of display opportunities available from Stakapal’s Widespan Shelving systems. Cantilever Racking and Pallet Racking systems were installed in both their yard and warehouse areas with additional Vertical Storage/A-Frame storage complimenting their warehouse facility for storing long lengths of timber, UPVC products, copper tube etc.
